Removing Extensions

Can you please try removing any extra Chrome extensions? This will help rule out software-related issues on your device, if the problem persists, we will schedule a time for you to come in for a repair.

Removing Chrome Extensions

Sometimes, Chrome extensions can cause issues such as hijacking your home page, redirecting your search engine, stealing your data, or cause overall performance issues. To remove extensions:

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots (More) in the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Select More tools > Extensions

  3. On the following page, you will see all your extensions listed. Click Remove on all extensions you don’t recognize, don’t need anymore, or believe are causing problems.

  4. Once all unnecessary extensions are removed, you can reboot your device.

  5. After rebooting, test your device and make sure the problem is resolved.

  6. If the problem is resolved, you can reinstall your extensions one by one, testing your device after each install. If problems arise, you know the last extension you installed is the culprit.

  7. If the problem persists, contact the IT Department.
