Our new single sign-on system eliminates the need to have separate computer and Google account passwords, and uses the computer account password for both accounts.

To clarify: your computer account password refers to the password used to sign into desktops and laptops (not Chromebooks) at Blue Hills. (Employees: this the same login that is used for the Employee Portal). This system uses this as your password for all accounts.

What has changed?

The login process for accessing the desktops and laptops (not Chromebooks), has not changed. This change focuses on Google accounts, and any service that uses Google to authenticate your account, such as Chromebooks, e-Hallpass, GoGuardian, and this help desk site.

Other services such as the Employee Portal will show the same login screens.

These changes apply to all users, including students.

Logging in on school computers (non-Chromebooks)

When logging into your Google account on school computers, you may not need enter your password at all. In most cases, Google will see that you are signed in with your Blue Hills account on your computer, and automatically sign you in. However, if this process is unsuccessful, you may see either of the login prompts below. Follow the prompts using your computer account password (not your Google account password).

This prompt may appear as a small pop up.

Logging in on Chromebooks

If you are logging in for the first time since this system has been implemented, we highly recommend deleting your account from your Chromebook and logging in again. This will ensure that your password is synced and not using your old password. You will not lose any information, it will be restored from Google Drive after signing in.

To delete your user, click the down arrow located next to your name at the login screen. Click Remove account.

If a new login screen does not appear automatically, click Add Person in the bottom left corner.

You will see a new window appear with a login screen. Follow the prompts using your computer account password (not your Google account password).

If you see a message asking you to enter your password to update your Chromebook profile, enter your password again and press Next

After this, you should be signed in!

Logging in on personal devices

When logging into your Google account on personal devices, such as computers or phones, you will see a login screen similar to the one found in the above section. Follow the prompts using your computer account password (not your Google account password).
